Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

Join host, Jenn da Rosa, EdD, for a thought-provoking webinar featuring three Goucher College faculty and staff as they share their personal stories of hurricane experiences. This webinar, Goucher Environmental Dialogues: Storm Stories, is on Wednesday, February 18, from noon-1 pm ET. Through their stories, Goucher College’s Diane Rehling, Jacob Budenz, and Justin Smith will explore the emotional and environmental impacts of hurricanes and reflect on the importance of resilience, community, and adaptation in the face of natural disasters.

Diane Rehling is the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Provost and VP of Academic Affairs at Goucher College. Prior to this, she worked in the Student Health Center, but that was interrupted by the pandemic. She returned to Goucher’s Student Counseling Center for two years and is now in the provost’s office. Diane experienced Hurricane Matthew in St. Augustine, Florida, when it hit the East Coast in 2016.

Jacob Budenz is a queer author, South Florida transplant, occasional English instructor, and assistant director of fellowships advising and success coaching at Goucher. Their academic work focuses on equity-based writing pedagogy at the intersection of otherness and the otherworldly.

Justin Smith is the Associate VP of Student Well-Being and Dean of Students at Goucher College. He most recently served as the assistant dean for student life at Princeton University and has held various residential life roles at Nova Southeastern University, the Savannah College of Art and Design, and Stanford University.
