Volunteer Engagement in the Arts

Join us for a discussion about the thousands of individuals who work as volunteers in the nonprofit arts community. It’s difficult to imagine many of our arts organizations surviving without the teachers, docents, box office personnel, directors, designers, and board members who give so generously of their time and expertise. Hear from Meg Friedman, an expert in this area, about who they are and what motivates these individuals to volunteer in the arts.

Meg Friedman, M.A.A.A. ’18 will lead the discussion and answer questions from the webinar’s audience.

Ramona Baker, director of the M.A.A.A. program, will answer questions about the program, the application process, scholarships, and schedules.

Meet the host:

Meg Friedman, M.A.A.A. ’18

Meg Friedman is an analyst with AMS Planning & Research, an arts management consultancy with offices in Connecticut and California, where her work includes research, financial analysis, and strategic planning. Prior to joining AMS, Meg was a freelance stage manager and worked in commercial and not-for-profit theaters across the country. Some of her favorite projects include the original production of Memphis on Broadway, and shows at the Goodspeed Opera House, Hartford Stage Company, and York Theatre Company in New York City.  Meg received her M.A. in Arts Administration from Goucher College.
