In this webinar, Elizabeth Hessami will share insights from her research on the environmental impacts of armed conflict and legal efforts to protect the environment before, during, and after conflict.

Elizabeth B. Hessami, J.D., LL.M. (Environmental Law) is a Faculty Lecturer for Johns Hopkins University, where she teaches Environmental Security, Public Lands and Private Interests, and International Environmental Law and Policy. Her primary area of research has been the impact of armed conflict on the environment with a focus on Afghanistan and Ukraine. She is a member of the Washington, D.C. and U.S. Supreme Court Bars, and Co-Chair of the Law Interest Group for the Environmental Peacebuilding Association. She is also a member of the IUCN-World Commission on Environmental Law.
