As we continue to face many challenges as a society, writers are continuing to offer us  perspectives from different communities and experiences. They work to tell their truth and the truth of others. Join us for a conversation with Jane Gerster, M.F.A. ’16, to discuss her book in progress about police brutality among indigenous women in Canada and her path to a two-book deal. 

Jane is currently a health reporter for the Winnipeg Free Press in Manitoba. Her reporting has appeared in publications such as, The Wall Street JournalVice, the Toronto StarDaily Xtra, and other outlets. She is also the author of “Ashton’s Second Act." She won the Goff Penny award as one of Canada’s best young journalists in 2016.
