The AI-Enabled Communicator: Strategy, Tools, and Ethics

This Digital Communication Dialogue will explore the role of AI as a tool in digital communication professional practice and the ethical implications of its use in the workplace. Dr. Siobahn Stiles, the Director of the M.A. in Digital Communication program at Goucher College, will engage in a series of thought-provoking questions with Michael Tinati, the Managing Director at Kinetics MarCom, a Maryland-based marketing and communications firm. Michael’s extensive experience in utilizing AI within his marketing role will offer valuable insights into its practical applications and potential challenges. After their conversation, a Q&A session will be held, inviting the audience to actively participate and seek clarification on any remaining questions or concerns.
Michael Tinati is the founder and managing director of Kinetics MarCom, a Maryland-based strategic marketing and communications firm. With over 35 years of experience, Michael has led transformative initiatives in product launches, service innovation, and organizational rebranding. Recognized as a catalyst for change, he has partnered with global leaders such as Procter & Gamble, Citibank, GE, ExxonMobil, and Sprint. Throughout his career, Michael has been at the intersection of technology and marketing. He played a role in pioneering efforts like GE’s early dial-up services, Sprint’s internet business solutions and mobile platforms and the assimilation of biometrics in the travel industry. Today, Michael is at the forefront of integrating generative AI into marketing and communications strategies for both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. His expertise bridges traditional marketing principles with cutting-edge AI applications, helping organizations adapt and thrive in the era of intelligent automation.
