Racial Equity and the Arts

Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 7:00 PM until 8:00 PMEastern Daylight Time UTC -04:00

The arts community is at a crossroads between our beliefs in equity and the reality of many of our cultural institutions. How did we get here? On September 30, Janet Brown will provide a historical perspective on practices that created these inequities and provide recommendations on what we can do now to make changes.

A nationally recognized speaker and teacher, Janet Brown recently retired as president & CEO of Grantmakers in the Arts, a national association for foundations and public agencies. Under her leadership, GIA gained recognition for its bold racial equity efforts and its focus on the financial health of the nonprofit art sector. Janet is also a former faculty member in the M.A. in Arts Administration program at Goucher.

All can attend the webinar at no cost! If you have any questions, please contact Lexi Rudolph at lexi.rudolph@goucher.edu.
